ADAPTIVE LEARNING
REACH PROGRAM
Classes are offered on a continuing basis. Continuing students who
have been pre-approved may fill out a registration form at the REACH
Program office.
New students are required to contact the REACH Program coordinator
Linda DiNucci at (650) 949-6960. All new students must schedule an
evaluation prior to enrolling in the program to determine their needs
and ability to participate in a group environment.

The Foothill College Community Education REACH Program is designed
to provide the essential link between outpatient rehabilitation, full
community reintegration to adults recovering from stroke, and acquired
brain injury.
With the assistance of the coordinator, students participate in individual
goal setting. Classes are tailored to meet specific needs allowing each
student to reach their maximum physical, emotional and social potential
and to achieve the highest level of independence.
Admission to the REACH Program is open to adults 18 years of age
or older. It is appropriate for post-stroke individuals and those with
acquired brain injuries, who have left the hospital or the rehabilitation
center, as well as for those who have old limitations but need guidance
and support in learning new activities.
Classes are taught by instructors who are licensed specialists in
Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech/Language Pathology.
The program focuses on three core areas: mobility and fitness skills;
upper extremity exercises and adaptive living skills; and communication
skills
