Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Staff

Assistant Head Coach - Jimmy Herrera

Coach Herrera enters his 4th year with Owls and will serve as the Associate Head Coach. Coach Herrera had very successful playing careers at Live Oak High School, Gavilan College and UC Santa Cruz - he was an All-Conference performer at all levels. Coach Herrera earned his MA in Kinesiology from San Jose State in 2009 and holds a BS in Biological Sciences from UCSC. Coach Herrera duties include in part: recruiting coordinator, practice oversight, game prep and strategic planning.

Assistant Coach - Larry Lumpkins

Coach Lumpkins is a graduate of Northwestern University,where he played basketball in the Big Ten Conference during 1978-1980. He began his college career at Santa Rosa Junior College where he helped his team win the Conference Championship both years. Lumpkins was a JC All American his sophomore season at Santa Rosa under Coach Bill Trumbo. He has been active in youth basketball coaching on the Peninsula for the last 10 years . He is a partner in a real estate company in Redwood City and lives on the Peninsula with his wife, Sue and their 3 children.

Assistant Coach - Chris Petiti

Coach Petiti joins the Foothill Owls coaching staff after spending the 2010-2011 as an assistant at Bethany University. He is the son of local high school coach Drew Petiti, for whom he played in his hometown of South San Francisco. Coach Petiti completed his undergraduate education at Azusa Pacific University and followed that by earning a Master's Degree in Athletic Administration From Concordia University, Irvine in the 2011. Prior to his time at the collegiate level, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Western Christian High School in Upland, CA where he helped lead the Lancers to the 2010 league championship. Petiti is excited to reconnect with the local basketball scene and to help continue the great tradition that is Foothill basketball.
