Foothill Victory Puts them in First Place
With the win at College of San Mateo last Friday night, the Owls moved into sole possession of first place in the North Coast Conference. Foothill (24-3, 6-1 in league) beat San Mateo by a final score of 86-76 and was lead by Raeshel Contreras with 28 points and Jessica Woo with 20.

Foothill plays next at home at 7pm vs. San Francisco City College.

Foothill Picks up 2 More League Wins
The Owls defeated Chabot College and Skyline College in their last 2 games at home. Against Chabot, Foothill was lead by Sharissa Estremera with 13 points and Jessica Woo with 12. Rechel Carter grabbed 11 rebounds.

On Wednesday night vs. Skyline Foothill had five players in double figures lead by Nikki Powell and Sharissa Estremera with 11 points each, followed by Raeshel Contreras, Rechel Carter and Deja Bishop all with 10.

Foothill plays next Friday Feb 3 at College of San Mateo. Tip off time 5:30pm.

Foothill Defeats Las Positas
In a dominating performance, Foothill defeated Las Positas Wednesday night by a final score of 95-49. The Owls put up an impressive 58 points in the first half alone and cruised to the 46 point victory. Foothill had 13 players in the scoring column lead by Raeshel Contreras with 20. Nikki Powell had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Chelsea Salom added 16 points. Foothill (#1 Norcal) plays at home next against #14 Chabot at 5pm on Jan 25th.

Foothill Suffers First Loss in 12 games
The Owls took their first loss in league losing at San Francisco City by a score of 63-58. San Francisco who already lost to San Mateo also has one loss in league. Foothill who struggled offensively was lead by Raeshel Contreras with 16 points and Nikki Powell with 8 points and 11 rebounds. No one else was in double figures. Foothill plays next at home vs. Las Positas College on Wednesday Jan 18 at 7pm.

Foothill Handles San Mateo
In a convincing 21 point victory over San Mateo, Foothill collected their 20th win of the season and second victory in league play beating San Mateo 83-61. Foothill was lead by Raeshel Contreras with 26 points and 6 assists. Four other players were in double figures lead by Nikki Powell, Rechel Carter and Colleen Goeser all with 11 points and Jessica Woo with10. Foothill is now 20-2 and 2-0.

Foothill Opens with a Victory over Skyline in League Play
The Owls open Coast Conference-North League play with a victory on the road over Skyline College 69-53. Foothill was lead by Raeshel Contreras with 12 points, 8 rebounds and Nikki Powell with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Foothill ranked #1 in Nor cal, #3 in State is now 19-2, 1-0 in league.

After victories over Butte College 95-43 and Irvine Valley 77-43, the Owls beat #5 Sierra College 71-61 to win their second consecutive Pepsi Holiday Classic. Foothill was lead by Rechel Carter with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Jessica Woo had 15 and Raeshel Contreras chipped in 14pts. Rechel Carter was named Tournament MVP and Jaquanna Harrison received All Tournament Honors.

Foothill beat Laney College by a final score of 80-63 in the championship game of the Jocelyn Mancebo Classic. Foothill jumped out to a 46-28 lead by halftime and never looked back. The Owls were lead by Nikki Powell with 14 pts and 7 rebounds. Sharissa Estremera added 11 and Rechel Carter had 9pts. 11 players were in the scoring column. Nikki Powell and Rechel Carter were named to the All Tournament Team and Colleen Goeser was named Tournament MVP.

The Owls are off for Christmas break until the Pepsi Holiday Classic Tournament (held at Foothill College) which runs Dec. 28-30th. The eight team tournament features Los Medanos vs. Sierra College at 2pm. San Mateo vs. Shasta College at 4pm. Foothill vs. Butte at 6pm and College of Sequoias vs. Irvine Valley College at 8pm.

Foothill in Championship Game
Foothill opened with a victory over Modesto College on Monday afternoon (@ Delta College). After taking an early 20 pt lead and leading by 14 at halftime, the Owls defense then surrendered 37 points leading to a 64-61 victory. Foothill was lead by Nikki Powell with 10pts and 10 rebounds.

In Tuesday's semi-final game vs Diablo Valley College where Foothill won 73-57, the Owls saw 11 players in the scoring column. Chelsea Salom and Colleen Goeser were in double figures with 11pts and 10pts each. Foothill plays at 4pm today vs Laney College in the Championship game.

Foothill Defeats Ohlone
After taking two 15 point leads, the Owls had to hold off a late Ohlone run to grab their second victory over the Renegades on Tuesday night at Ohlone College. Final score was 64-55. Foothill was lead by Nikki Powell and Rechel Carter with 12 pts each. Foothill plays next in the Jocelyn Mancebo Classic (Delta College) where they open with Modesto College at 1pm on Monday Dec.19th.

Foothill Ranked #1 in Nor Cal and #3 in the State.
Undefeated against Northern teams, the Owls (12-2) earned the top spot in the California Northern Ranking and sit at #3 in the State behind Ventura and Mt. San Antonio.

Owls Take Championship in Santa Rosa
Coming off a disappointing 4th Place finish last weekend, Foothill rebounded by beating Santa Rosa in the Championship game of the Caren Franci Invitational (Santa Rosa). Final score was 56-48. Foothill was lead by Emily Richard with 20 points. Rechel Carter was named All-Tournament and Chelsea Salom was named Tournament MVP. Foothill defeated Delta College in the semi-final and College of Redwoods in the opening game.

Foothill Takes 4th Place
After beating Riverside College and Delta College easily, Foothill lost to Cerritos 64-60 and then lost to Mt. San Antonio 65-57 in the Third Place Game. Cerritos won the tournament beating State Ranked #1 Ventura College in the Championship Game. Foothill plays next at 2pm against College of the Redwoods in Santa Rosa on Dec. 9.

Foothill Victorious Over Ohlone
On Sunday Nov 27, Foothill beat Ohlone 74-60 to earn the Owl's second victory at home. Foothill had three players in double figures lead by Jessica Woo with 17, Raeshel Contreras with 15 and Chelsea Salom with 10 points and 9 assists. This victory brings the Owls record to 6-0.

Foothill plays next on Thursday Dec. 1 where they open at 6pm with Riverside College at the Tom Gilcrest Tournament at the College of Sequoias in Visalia.

On Tuesday, Foothill traveled to Consumnes River (#9 Norcal) and defeated the Hawks by a final score of 79-69. Foothill was lead by Raeshel Contreras with 27 points and Rechel Carter and Jaquanna Harrison with 10 points each.

Foothill Wins the Coca Cola Classic
The Owls took down three top ranked teams to take home the Championship of the Coca Cola Classic in Merced. Foothill (Pre-season #4 NorCal) opened the tournament with a victory over Fresno (Pre-season #2 NorCal) 76-71 and then beat Santa Rosa (Pre-season #3 NorCal) 57-45 in the semi-final. The Owls then defeated Cypress College (SoCal #8 ) in the Championship by a final score of 71-49. Raeshel Contreras was named Tournament MVP and Jessica Woo was named All-Tournament.

Foothill Opens Season with Resounding Victory over DeAnza
Foothill opened the 2011-12 season jumping on DeAnza early and never looking back. After a 7-0 start the Owls had built a 24 pt lead just 14 minutes into the game. The final score was Foothill 88 - DeAnza 68. Foothill was lead by Jessica Woo with 21 pts, 4 assists; Raeshel Contreras with 17pts, 3 assists and 5 steals and Nikki Powell with 11pts, 10 rebounds, 6 blocks and 3 steals. 11 Foothill players were in the scoring column.

Congratulations Go Out To The 2011 Sophomores
Congratulations go out to the 2011 sophomores: Addie Schivo (University of Idaho), Devin Brown (Cal State Stanislaus), Eliza Bowles (Cal State San Bernardino) and Kindra Jones (Great Fall University- Montana) who all transferred to play basketball at the 4 yr level. Congratulations also to Addie Schivo and Raeshel Contreras who received California All-State Honors and Addie Schivo who was named All American Honorable Mention.

High School Girls Summer League 2011 (June 20th -July 29th)
A six week (June 20th -July 27th) competitive basketball league for incoming 9th-12th graders will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings. There are two divisions, Varsity and Junior Varsity. Game times are between 5pm and 9pm.

Groups must register as a team with a coach. Teams must supply their own reversible uniforms with numbers and warm-up balls. Teams will play approximately 8 games.

Foothill to the Elite 8
A victory over DeAnza College last night moves Foothill into the State Championship Elite 8 for the 6th time in 12 years. Foothill defeated DeAnza by a final score of 75-63 to bring their overall record to 27-4. The Owls were lead by Addie Schivo with 18, Raeshel Contreras with 14 and Nikki Powell with 12 pts.

Once again the Owls had a balanced scoring attack with 11 players in the scoring column. Foothill plays next at home this Saturday March 6 at 7pm against San Francisco City College.

Foothill to the State Sweet 16
With a first round victory over Sacramento City College, Foothill advances to the State Sweet 16. The Owls defeated the Panthers on Saturday by a final score of 67-52. Foothill had a balanced scoring attack with 10 players in the scoring column lead by Raeshel Contreras, Tara Baldini and Stefani Agostini all with 10 points each. #2 Foothill (26-4) plays #7 DeAnza College next on Wednesday March 2 at Foothill at 7pm.

Finishing with two victories over Skyline and San Mateo in the last week of league play, the Owls won their 9th Coast Conference North League Title in 10 years. Foothill was lead by Addie Schivo's 41 points over the least two games. Foothill (25-4) received the #2 seed in Nor Cal and plays this Saturday Feb 26 at home at 7pm vs. Sacramento City College.

Scoring 49 points in the second half, Foothill defeated Las Positas College this past Wednesday by a final score of 74-43. The Owls connected on 10 three point shots, lead by Raeshel Contreras with 6 and Stefani Agostini with 3. Raeshel lead Foothill in scoring with 18 points and 7 assists. Addie Schivo had 13 points while Stefani Agostini had 11 and Nikki Powell grabbed 10 rebounds.

Foothill's record is now 23-4, 7-1 in League. The Owls have two home games next week to finish league, the first on Wednesday Feb. 15 at 7pm vs. Skyline College. The Owls play College of San Mateo on Friday at 5pm.

Foothill Defeats Ohlone College
In a league crossover game Foothill defeated Ohlone College on Wednesday night by a final score of 66-55. The Owls had a 13 point lead at the half and expanded that to 44-27 early in the second half. Foothill was lead by Addie Schivo with 29 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Stefani Agostini chipped in 12 points and Nikki Powell lead the Owls in rebounds with 10. The victory brings the Owls season record to 21-4.

Despite winning the second half the Owls came up short against CCSF on Friday night suffering their first lost in 15 games. Foothill was lead by Addie Schivo with 20 points and Stefani Agostini with 13. The loss drops the Owls (20-4, 5-1) into a tie for First Place in the Coast Conference-North Division.

Foothill Owls (#1 Nor Cal, #4 State) handled both Skyline and CSM on the road over the past week extending their win streak to 15 games. Foothill defeated Skyline by a final score of 72-53. Addie Schivo lead the Owls with 22 points and Stefani Agostini chipped in 15 points. At CSM the Owls pulled away in the second half to defeat the bulldogs by a final score of 85-75. Foothill was lead by Haidee Sui's 26 points, Addie Schivo with 25 and Kindra Jones with 18.

Despite playing without PG Raeshel Contreras, Foothill picked up two more league wins against Chabot College and Las Positas this past week. At Chabot on Wednesday, Foothill was lead by Addie Schivo with 25 points, Kindra Jones with 15 points,11 rebounds and Nikki Powell with 12 rebounds. On Friday against Las Positas, Addie lead the Owls with 23 points while Nikki Powell pulled down 10 rebounds. #1 Foothill (18-3, 3-0) plays next at Skyline College on Wednesday January 19 at 5pm.

Picking up their third straight Tournament Championship, the Owls beat Sierra College in the championship game of the Pepsi Holiday Classic at Foothill College by a final score of 72-68. Foothill was lead by tournament MVP Addie Schivo's 22 points. Stefani Agostini added 10 points while Kindra Jones had 16 points and 8 rebounds. In the semi-final game the Owls defeated Los Medanos by a final score of 65-59. Addie Schivo had 18, Raeshel Contreras had 17 and Kindra Jones had 13 points and 11 rebounds. In the opening round game against Shasta College, Kindra Jones lead the Owls with 25 points and 9 rebounds en route to a 93-57 victory. Raeshel Contreras had 15 points and 10 assists, Addie had 14 points and 5 assists, Devin Brown had 10 points and 5 assists. Kindra Jones was named to the All-Tournament team while Addie Schivo was named Tournament MVP.

Foothill Wins the Delta Classic
Foothill beat Merced College in the Championship Game of the Delta Classic by a final score of 66-58 to win their second consecutive tournament. The Owls were lead by Raeshel Contreras with 18 points and Addie Schivo with 15. In the semi- final game the Owls beat Laney College by a final score of 87-70. Raeshel and Addie again lead the Owls with 18 and 13 points respectively in a game that saw everyone get into the scoring column. Nikki Powell added 10 points and 6 reboounds and 2 blocks. In the opening round game vs Diablo Valley College, Foothill won 75-63. Stefani Agostini lead the Owls with 20 points while Raeshel had 14. Raeshel Contreras and Nikki Powell were named to the All Tournament team. Addie Schivo was the Tournament MVP.

Foothill Victorious over San Jose City
Foothill picked up its 4th straight victory with a convincing win over San Jose City on Friday night. The Owls beat the Jags by a final score of 78-42. Addie Schivo and Raeshel Contreras poured in 24 points a piece to lead Foothill. The Owls knocked down 14 3pt shots in the game including 6 by freshman guard Raeshel Contreras.

Foothill Takes First Place in Tournament
Foothill defeated league rival San Francisco City College on Saturday by a final score of 89-86 to win the Caren Franci Invitational. Foothill was lead by Tournament MVP- Raeshel Contreras with 25 points, All Tournament- Addie Schivo with 21 points and Stefani Agostini with 14. In the semi final on Friday the Owls defeated San Joaquin Delta College 71-61 despite being down 9 points at half time. Raeshel lead the Owls with 22 points; Haidee Sui chipped in 14 points and Addie Schivo had 12. In the opening game vs. College of the Redwoods, the Owls scored 107 while holding Redwoods to 56. Five players- Raeshel Contreras, Kindra Jones, Haidee Sui, Tara Baldini and Nikki Powell scored in double figures in that game. Tara and Nikki also grabbed 7 and 9 rebounds each, Deja Bishop lead the team in rebounding with 13. The Owls (8-3) play next at San Jose City College on Friday Dec. 17 at 7pm.

Owls Drop 2 at COS Tournament
Foothill opened up the loaded 16-team tournament in Visalia with a 68-58 loss to Mt. Sac (ranked #1 in State). The Owls were lead by Raeshel Contreras with 15pts and Haidee Sui with 12. In the second round game, Foothill beat Porterville by a score of 89-45. Raeshel and Haidee once again lead the Owls with 15 points each while Kindra added 13 pts and 10 rebounds. In the third game, Foothill lost to state ranked Riverside 78-75 after leading the whole game. Addie Schivo lead the team with 21, Raeshel Contreras had 20 and Kindra Jones had 12 pts and 11 rebounds. State Ranked #8 Foothill (5-3) is at the Caren Franci Invitational in Santa Rosa this next weekend (Dec. 9-11) and opens with College of the Redwoods at 2pm on Thursday.

Foothill Handles Ohlone
The Owls picked up their fourth victory with a solid win over Ohlone College 74-58 on Wednesday night. Foothill was lead by Addie Schivo with 19 points. Stefani Agostini and Raeshel Contreras chipped in three- 3pt shots each in a night where everyone was in the scoring column. Foothill travels to the high powered COS tournament next weekend to open with Mt. San Antonio (currently undefeated).

Foothill Gets a Victory up North
The Owls made a trip through the snow to College of the Redwoods this past Saturday where they beat the Corsairs 104-48. Foothill was lead by Kindra Jones with 18pts and 8 rebounds, in a game where everybody on the Owl roster scored. Raeshel Contreras had 15 points, 7 steals and 14 assists which set a new school record for assists in a single game. Addie Schivo had 17 pts and 3 assists and Nikki Powell had 10 pts and 7 rebounds in her homecoming debut.

Lady Owls Open Season Strong
The Owls opened the 2010 season with victories over #5 ranked Santa Rosa and #14 ranked Merced putting them into the Championship game of the Merced Coca Cola Tip off tournament (which featured 8 ranked teams).

Foothill was lead by freshman Raeshel Contreras with 25 pts and sophomore Stefani Agostini with 18 in the game vs Santa Rosa.

Against Merced, Raeshel put up 23pts while sophomore Addie Schivo had 21.

Foothill lost in the Championship game to #2 Fresno City College by a final score of 80-74. Addie Schivo lead the Owls with 16pts while sophomore Kindra Jones added 9 pts and 13 rebounds.

Leading the Way with Transfers
With now close to 50 players having transferred to 4 year programs after playing at Foothill College for Coach Jody Craig and her staff, Foothill is one of the leading programs for Women's Basketball in California for transferring players to the next level.

In the last 2 years, ten players have made the transition. The Foothill Women's Basketball program would like to acknowledge the following former players and wish them continued success at the next level.
