Coach's Corner
Upon losing 8 sophomores from the Foothill program this past year, and welcoming 10 new faces to the team, there have been a lot of changes to the face of the Owls. The expectation of fulfilling a championship season hasn't changed however and Coach Craig and her staff are faced with the challenge of uniting a whole new group of players in a very short period of time. Craig says, this team is actually making that job easier for us with the unique "family" bond we already share off the floor.

As we grow together as a group and learn to function as a single unit on the floor we will be hard to beat." Craig is optimistic that the Owls will hit their stride early in the pre-season. She recognizes that "even though we have a number of players talented enough to carry the load themselves; it is when we combine as one force on the same page, that we are truly unstoppable."
Craig cautions her young group to not get caught up in the hype surrounding any of the program’s past or present achievements however and hopes they will enjoy their own ride to success.
"If we can put blinders on and just continue to do the things we need to do on a consistent basis then we will have a chance to truly make this a magical season."
Meet the Coach:
Coach Craig begins her thirteenth year with the program, twelfth as the head coach. Foothill has won 12 Coast Conference Championships in the past 15 years.
The Owls have been in the California Community College State Sweet 16 in eight out the past ten years; the Elite 4 three times; the Final Four twice and were the 2008 State Runner Up.
Coach Craig has been instrumental in the development and transfer of many top quality players through her program and has been named the Coast Conference Coach of the Year three times in addition to 2008 Nor Cal Coach of the Year.
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Craig believes in an up-tempo, team-style offense and full court suffocating defense. Before joining the Foothill program, she coached at San Luis High where the Tigers won the CIF Championship in 1994-95. A 1990 graduate of Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, she capped off an illustrious career with Division II All-American Honors her senior year.
She holds a Master of Science Degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. She resides in Mountain View with her husband Dave.
