In 2010 the Foothill College Men’s Golf Team came in third in the Coast Conference and seventh in Northern California. We have five returning players and high expectations. The beginning of the season was a little disappointing. Only one player, Jamie Walsh, qualified for the state championship. With four players and our redshirts returning, we are excited about 2011.
About our Program -
Men's Golf has 13 tournaments during the season with the hopes of qualifying for the Northern California Championship and the State Championship. Foothill College plays some of the finest and most challenging country club courses in Northern California. The season starts with fall practice, with the team qualifying rounds in the month of January. Competition runs from February 1st through the second week of May.
During the last 12 years, Foothill has represented the Coast Conference at the Northern California Community College Championship 8 times, coming in 5th in the state in 2004 and fourth in the state in 2006. Only eight teams are represented in Northern California with four going on to the state championship.
In the last 12 years six players have gotten their PGA certification and many others have gone on to compete at the four year level.
