Foothill Garment Printing Services

Foothill Garment Printing Services (FGPS) was founded in Fall of 2010 by Associated Students Foothilll College (ASFC) to assist with providing printable garments to the Foothill community including clubs, organization, event and academic departments. FGPS is a student-run business. Transactions for services take place at the AFSC Smart Shop and printing is done in Studio 1801. Studio 1801 is operated by the department of Graphic Design.

Employment & Internship positions

Students enrolled in 6 or more units at Foothill College may apply for paid and unpaid internship positions. Internships require a quarter-long commitment to serve the operations of FGPS. Interns must enroll in 1-unit of FA 30-01: Fine Arts Topic, under the direction of Kent Manske, each Quarter.

Intern responsibilities may include:

  • graphic design
  • preparation of artwork and screens for printing
  • printing operations
  • post-printing operations including: quality control, curing, distribution and delivery of garments
  • inventory and studio management
  • studio organization and cleaning

Interns that demonstrate proficiency and responsibility in the operations above may be eligible for paid hourly employment. After completion of a minimum of twenty-hours of internship service, interns can contact the Business Operations Manager for employment information.

Paid Positions:
Based on internship application, portfolio of printed garments, recommendations, job application.

Requirements for the above include:

  • Completion of GID 32 with a grade of C or higher.
  • Enrollment in a one-unit of GID 151: Printmaking Studio each quarter of employment or internship.
  • Paid positions require 6 units of current Foothill enrollment each quarter of employment.
