Interactive & Multimedia Technologies (2009-2010)Interactive and Multimedia Technologies play an important role in todays communications industry as well as applications in business, education, entertainment, and telecommunications. Designing and producing effective presentations which combine graphics, text, sound, music, video and animation requires an imaginative blend of art, science, technology, and communications skills. The Interactive and Multimedia Technologies program prepares students to undertake professional practice upon completion, or to undertake advanced studies at the university level. It offers students professional, hands-on instruction. Career OpportunitiesCareer opportunities include the following: authoring and scripting, film and video animation, computer animation, multimedia and video art, audio and video editing, graphic design, interface design, CD-ROM title development, game development, instructional design, training, media coordination, corporate communications, marketing and sales. Units required for Major: 50Units required for Certificate: 23-50 Associate Degree Requirements: This Associate of Science degree requires the following: Program Type(s): English proficiency: ENGL 1A, ESL 26, or equivalent. Mathematics proficiency: MATH 105 or equivalent. A minimum of 90 total Units including: General Education requirements Core courses (35 Units) Support courses (5 Units) Electives (10 Units) NOTE: All courses pertaining to the major must be taken for a letter grade. In addition, a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required in all Core and Support courses for the Degree or Certificates. 50% of the major units must be taken at Foothill College.
