Graphic and Interactive Design (2009-2010)The Graphic & Interactive Design Program offers training for careers in the exciting, dynamic fields of graphic design, design for the Web, multimedia, illustration and digital publishing. Students enrolled in this Program develop basic and advanced skills in the important traditional processes of layout, design and drawing while cultivating proficiencies in the leading-edge digital graphics technologies. Students receive a balance of instruction that includes traditional, computer and general education courses that are designed to produce a well-rounded, highly-trained graduate with sufficient expertise to be employable in an ever-expanding job market. Internships, student aid positions and on-the-job training opportunities are available to qualified students who are enrolled in the program. Units required for Major: 59Units required for Certificate: 12-59 Associate Degree Requirements: • English proficiency: ENGL 1A, ESL 26 or equivalent. Program Type(s):• Mathematics proficiency: MATH 105 or equivalent. A minimum of 90 units required to include: • All General Education requirements • Core courses (43 Units) • Electives (16 Units) • Other graduation requirements as appropriate. NOTE: All courses pertaining to the major must be taken for a letter grade. In addition, a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required in all Core and Elective courses for the Degree or Certificates.
