Art: Studio Emphasis (2012-2013)
The Art: Studio Emphasis Program is designed to prepare students in the foundations of art media and art practice. This program is designed for students wishing to pursue an Associate in Arts in Studio Art or are preparing for transfer to a four-year institution as an Art Major.
Program Learning Outcomes
• Students will be able to create two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork and designs using appropriate tools, materials, methods and techniques.
• Students will be able to analyze and critically evaluate two-dimensional and three-dimensional creative projects using the current principles and language of art and design.
Career opportunities include the following: artist, designer, museum and gallery staff, graphic artist, illustrator, exhibit designer,interior designer, painting technician, teacher, photographer, photojournalist, set designer.

Associate Degree Requirements:
• English proficiency: ENGL 1A, 1AH, 1S & 1T, ESLL 26 or equivalent.
• Mathematics proficiency: MATH 57, 105, 108 or equivalent.
A minimum of 90 units is required* to include:
• All Foothill General Education requirements (30 Units)
• Core courses (34.5 Units)
• Support courses (25.5 Units)
*Additional elective course work may be necessary to meet the 90-unit minimum requirement for the associate degree.
NOTE: All courses pertaining to the major must be taken for a letter grade. In addition, a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required in all core and support courses for the degree or certificates.
AA = Associate in Arts Degree.
CA = Certificate of Achievement.
UT = May be transferable to a four - year university.
