Our successful and dynamic Art History Department at Foothill College offers a wide range of both traditional and online courses taught by an outstanding and well-qualified faculty whose specialty areas include Medieval Art, African Art, American Art, Architecture, and Modern Design.

The Art History Department offers courses in Asian Art, Islamic Art, African, Oceanic, and Native American Art, A History of Women in Art, American Art, Modern Art and Contemporary Thought, Introduction to Art, and a variety of Western Art History Survey and Honors courses. The breadth and depth of courses offered, enables students to earn an A.A. degree in Art History, a Certificate of Achievement in Art History, and/or a Certificate of Specialization in Art History.

All Art History courses taught at Foothill are transferable to UC and CSU campuses and several satisfy multicultural studies requirements; please see your college counselor for specific transfer requirements.
