Program and Team Information

Returning players for 2011

Erin Bedell is returning for her second season. Erin is a returning captain and one of the top players in the area. She is a very smart attacking player. She was a key player when the team won their first league championship in 2008. Erin played her high School Soccer at Woodside High School.

Mikaela Jakobsson is our returning GK. Mikaela is about six feet tall and she is very strong. She came to Foothill College from Sweden two years ago and has really made an impact on our team. She was one of the best GK's in the league last year and she has worked very hard in the off-season. Mikaela is one of the best GK in the state and we are very lucky to have her on our team.

Kimberly Denne is a returning defender. Kimmy is great in the air and a natural leader. She has everything anyone would want in a center back. She is athletic, strong, fast, smart and vocal. She will be the anchor to our defense for the 2011 season.

Alyssa Trujillo is back after taking a year off. Alyssa is one of the most creative offensive players on our team. She has a nice way of placing herself in the right place. She is a very smart player and has great individual skill. We missed Alyssa big time last year and we are very excited to have her back.

Courtney Lucero is a tough, skilled ball-winning center mid. She has won many awards over her playing career because she sees the field very well and has a very dangerous shot. Courtney will help lead this team in tough games and will make it very tough for teams to come up the middle on us.

Julia Landholt is a returning forward who we are converting to an outside mid. Julia is very coordinated and can defend and attack at a high level. Julia is a leader and will be a big piece to our puzzle this year.

Felicia Mcintire is ready to play her first year of college soccer. She red shirted last year because she wanted to improve her skills and knowledge of the game. Over the year Felicia worked harder then anyone. Never missing practice and always asking for ways to get better, she is now one of the stronger players on our team.

Ali Haag is returning to our team after taking two season off. Ali won defender of the year for our team her freshman year and was also a major reason our 2008 team won the league. She is the type of center back everyone would want. She is fast, tall, skilled, a monster in the air and is very skilled. She should be a big part of our teams success this year.

Myra Amparo is another player returning to our team after taking a year off. Myra hurt her knee in 2009 and had to sit out the 2010 season. Myra is one of the best players Foothill College has had. She is tough, hard working, very skilled, has great vision and always seems to make the big play. Foothill College is very happy to have Myra back on the team.



Returning players for 2010


Karina Cavanna is returning to the soccer team after having to sit out last season because of injury. Karina was honored by her teammates with the Most Valuable Player of the year award in 2008 and helped lead the team to their first ever league championship. Karina was voted captain her freshman year and is a wonderful leader. On the field she is a great finisher and passer. Karina played her high school soccer at Leland High School

Deniz High played in goal for the owls in 2009 and made some incredible saves. Deniz's best attribute is her ability to make big saves when the team needed them. Deniz played her high school soccer at San Mateo High School.

Shuree Irizarry is one of the best forwards on the team. She is very athletic and plays with a huge amount of determination. She has the ability to lead the team in goals and assists. Shuree played her high school soccer at Los Gatos High School.

Christina Kearney is a very intelligent center midfielder. She defends at a very high level and seems to always find a way to win 50/50 balls. Christina played her high school soccer at Mitty High School.

Amanda Lopez is a great defender. Maybe our toughest and most physical player, Amanda reads the game very well, is athletic and never backs away from a challenge. Amanda played her high school soccer at Newark Memorial High School.

Nicole Johnson is one of the most skilled players on our team. She never stops working hard on both offense and defense. Nicole is always looking to get her good shot off and really helps us keep the ball on offense. Nicole played her high school soccer in Colorado.

Nicole Montague is one of the most improved players from last year's team. Nicole came to us with a good feel for the game especially on defense but now is also a very good attacker. Her passing and dribbling skills have improved dramatically from last season. Nicole played her high school for San Mateo High School.

Sarah Pena is one of the most committed and best athletes on the team. She scored some very important goals last year and because of her dedication she is a much more dangerous player for this season. Sarah has really improved her shot and 1 vs. 1 ability. Sarah played high school soccer for Santa Clara High School.

Alexis Raisch is a great athlete; she is both very fast and powerful. She plays outside back for us last year and made it very tough for opposing attackers. She has worked hard to improve her offensive skills and should be a good weapon for next year's offense. Alexis played high school soccer for Wilcox High School.

Jackie Ryan started for us last year at defensive midfielder and she was a main reason the team gave up so few goals last year. She wins almost every 50/50 ball and is great on offense too. Jackie should have a great 2010 season. Jackie played high school soccer at Branham High School.

Shauna Sanjeinejad had a great 2010 season at left back. She possesses tremendous speed and skill. Shauna is a true competitor and loves to win. Shauna went to Homestead High School before coming to Foothill College. Her club team won 3 straight California State Championships.

Katie Shelly was one of our top players last year. She communicates and leads the team very well from both a defender and midfielder roles. She has good offensive and defensive skills. Katie is our tallest player and does a good job of winning air balls. Katie played her High School soccer in Southern California for Harvard Westlake high school.

Alyssa Trujillo is one of our most skilled players. She can play anywhere on the field but plays mostly as a forward. She is an unselfish attacking player. She has the ability to score goals and get assists at a high level. Alyssa comes to us from Newark Memorial High School.

Patricia Vega won defensive player of the year for our soccer team last season. Patty has the ability to be an All American. She is fast, skilled and smart. Patty played her high school soccer at Carlmont High School.



New Players

Angela Bell is a very athletic and talented forward. She won a National Championship with her club team and should help Foothill College compete for a state championship this year. Angela is an aggressive player that loves to take players on with her great individual skills.

Amanda Boyle is coming to Foothill College from Notre Dame High School. Amanda is one of the fastest players in the State. Amanda will be one of the most dangerous forwards on the team.

Kelsey Burke comes to Foothill College from Notre Dame High School. She is going to be one of the most skilled players on the team. She has great instincts for the game and is a wonderful passer.

Kimmy Denne comes to Foothill College from Irvington High School. She has the attitude, athleticism, skill and experience to be a dominating player even in her freshman year.

Julia Landholt comes to Foothill College from Mercy High School. Julia uses her body very well to shield of defenders. She has great instincts around the goal and is very confident 1 vs. 1.

Kelsey Poulsen comes to us from Mitty High School. Kelsey is going to be one of the best players in the league. She reads the game very well, has great attacking skills and is a good leader.
