The Dental Assisting Program applications are available from the Biology and Health Sciences Division office, or can be downloaded and printed from this site. Admission is limited to 30 full-time students .
Admission is based on criteria approved by Foothill College and consistent with State and Federal law, regulations and program accreditation guidelines.
Applications are reviewed on a first come first serve basis and the application process is open until all full-time positions are filled.
Applicants who qualify for entry into the dental assisting program will be contacted and invited to an orientation with the Director of the Dental Assisting Program to discuss the school schedule, financial responsibilities, etc. Questions the applicant may have are discussed at this time.
After the orientation, the applicant will have ten days to formally declare their acceptance to the program.
All applicants admitted into this program will be required to complete a physical examination, including drug testing, by a physician of your choice. Admission will be contingent upon completion of this examination. The completed physical examination form must be returned to the Foothill College Dental Assisting Program by the first day of school. This evaluation will help us to determine your ability to comply with the technical standards of the program which are listed on the application.
Students admitted into the program are required to undergo standard Federal background checks with all costs borne by the student.
Minimum Prerequisites Selected admission to the Dental Assisting Curriculum is based on a high school diploma or equivalent.
