Q: Is it better to have the general education requirements completed before entering the program?
A: The block scheduling for the program (see schedule) allows for students to complete general education requirements in the afternoons and evenings. However, students find it easier to concentrate on radiology courses if the majority of general education courses are completed.

Q: Do you have to complete Anatomy and Physiology before entering the program?
A: Yes. Anatomy and Physiology are prerequisites that must be completed before the March deadline.

Q: Are there prerequisites?
A: Yes. The prerequisites are:
- High School graduation or a valid G.E.D.
- Grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
- High School algebra or MATH 220, or equivalent college level
course with a grade of "C" or better within the past three years,
or completion of a higher math, or placement into MATH 105 or MATH 108 on the
Foothill College placement test. Note: MATH 105 or MATH 108 and MATH 108 or higher does not
need to be within three years.
- CHEM 30A, CHEM 25, CHEM 10 or any equivalent college chemistry
that includes a lab with a grade of "C" or better.
- BIOL 40A, 40B & 40C or a semester of Anatomy and a semester
of Physiology. Anatomy and Physiology studied in a language other
than English will not be considered.
- AHS 200 or Medical Terminology of 2 units or more with a grade
of "C" or better.
- RT 200L or equivalent with a grade of C or better.
- Eligibility for ESLL 26 or ENGL 1A.
Q: How do I get an application?
A:
Application forms are available here
from September to March. Students are admitted once a year only, beginning in
mid-August. Annual selections are made by July 1st each year,
and applicants are notified by letter of acceptance or non-acceptance
at that time. Prior to the deadline, send a completed application form,
and 2 official college transcripts for each college attended to:

Q: How much does the program cost?
A: Besides tuition, additional costs include books, supplies and
uniforms. Program costs are detailed in the
application.
Non-residents must pay a non-resident fee at the time of
registration. Reliable transportation is necessary since travel is required from the campus to hospitals.
Financial Aid and
scholarships are available.
In addition to the above, the standard
Foothill College enrollment fees are required.

Q: What certificate or degree can I earn?
A: After 22 consecutive months of competency-based, clinical, classroom,
and laboratory instruction, students will receive an Associate of Science
Degree in Radiologic Technology; and qualify to take the California State
and National Registry Exam.

Q: What is your transfer policy with students who have advanced standing?
A: The Foothill College Radiologic Technology Program does not admit
students with advanced standing. Course content and competencies vary
a great deal from program to program and therefore, students admitted
to the Foothill College Radiologic Technology Program are required to
complete all courses in the radiologic technology curriculum.
