The Child Development Academy is designed to help students prepare for the first level of six State Child Development Permits. The Child Development Assistant Permit authorizes the holder to care for and assist in the development and instruction of children in a childcare program.
The program is instruction-base highlighting Principles &s Practices of Teaching Young Children, Positive Behavior Management; Child, Family & Community as well as Planning Creative Art Activities for Children. Following instruction is a tutoring and group study component where the program offers field experience such as volunteering at a high quality pre-school or child care programs. During the program students are assisted in obtaining financial aid, textbooks, class materials and in fulfilling requirements for field experience participation including finger printing and TB testing.
2- Summer Academy 2014 - Mountain View
During the summer 2014, Map Your Future will offer the Child Development Academy at the Middlefield Campus in Palo Alto. Students will earn field experience through the Family Engagement Institute's, Stretch to Kinder Program. Please look at the information sheet and YES form for more information.
