This is an eight-week intensive program designed to prepare students for the National Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). An EMT is anyone who is directly connected to immediate, first-responder responsibilities, such as firefighters, ambulance attendants or park rangers.

The EMT curriculum includes anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, disease treatment, scene and patient assessment as well as trauma management. This program also includes the mandatory 10-12 hour internship involving working on an ambulance, at a hospital or emergency room. This program is a gateway to the medical profession, and covers the cost of books, materials, uniforms, transportation and the national registry testing fees.
