The Map Your Future Academies are a great opportunity to explore a career, complete a certificate and earn college credits. By being part of these summer, weekend or weekly academies, students have the opportunity to create an educational plan while also receiving support with writing a resume, and preparing for job interviews.

The program's vision is to use Foothill's outstanding certification programs as a "stepping---stone" or "gateway" to providing graduating high school students with opportunities to attain high-demand jobs while pursuing additional college opportunities that leverage their skills.

Research shows that students who experience success in their first college classes have an increased rate of college completion.

Key program components include: Accelerated Certification; Career and College Counseling; College Readiness Advising; Supported transitions to employment and college programs; Removal of "traditional" barriers; Implementation of engagement strategies; Focus on recruiting underrepresented students.
