Through a new partnership with Cal State East Bay, Foothill College students can complete an online Bachelor of Arts in Human Development or Bachelor of Science in Recreation (Hospitality). These are flexible, affordable, California State University degree programs.
California State University, East Bay has partnered with Foothill to enable students to complete a bachelor's degree program online. Foothill College students can transfer from Foothill College to either a B.A. in Human Development or a B.S. in Recreation (Hospitality Management). All of the upper division coursework for these degrees are offered entirely online. Cal State East Bay has been offering online classes since 1999 and is a leader in the area of preparing instructors to teach online. Cal State East Bay provides students with online student services eliminating the need to drive to the university. This includes access to online library services and 24/7 access to a reference librarian.
The main campus of Cal State East Bay is located just across the bay in Hayward, a 45 minute drive from Foothill College. When you want it, in-person access to professors, library facilities, and the all-important Commencement Ceremony is close by.

The online B.A. in Human Development examines human development theories and its social, cultural, physical and emotional dimensions. Students study lifespan concepts and developmental issues concerning children, adolescents, adults, gendered and aging populations. Options for the online degree are available in Adult Development and Gerontology, or in Women's Development. This degree provides excellent preparation for careers in social services and also provides excellent preparation for graduate work.
The program is very popular with community college students who work fulltime but still want to earn a four-year degree.

The online B.S. in Recreation features options in Hospitality Management, Leisure Management, and Recreation Therapy. This online degree serves students entering the rapidly growing Leisure and Hospitality industry. Students working in hotels, restaurants, special events, catering, tourist and travel attractions, parks and recreation settings, or hospitals will find this program suits their work hours very well. Any lower division course/major preparation courses for this major that are not offered at Foothill College can be taken online through Cal State East Bay for the price of Foothill college classes!
