Each division at Foothill College developed a list of standards for online courses offered in their division. These standards are intended to assist faculty in teaching online.

Set Up Free Student Services
Make free student services available for fully online courses, if desired.
  • Proctorio - Set up remote test proctoring services. Contact Judy Baker (onlinelearning@fhda.edu) for instructions.
  • NetTutor - Set up online tutoring services. Follow instructions on "Adding NetTutor to a Canvas Course."

Etudes Course Sites
  • Submit grades through MyPortal. Etudes does not automatically submit grades.
  • Unpublish your site if you do not wish students to access the course after it is over.
Canvas Course Sites
  • Submit grades through MyPortal. Instructions at.
  • Unpublish your site if you do not wish students to access the course after it is over.

Update Course Info website

Add information about your course to the Online Learning Course Info website. Make sure to update your Course Summary EACH quarter to be sure that the information is accurate. Students look for information about how to access the course and required textbooks in your course which they find by pressing the blue button located in the navigation area of this website.
