THE Winner of the RICHARD MAXWELL FELLOWSHIP FOR 2009
Congratulations to Linda Smith, winner of the 2009 Richard Maxwell Fellowship for 2009! Linda's work in short fiction garnered the prize from a number of excellent submissions. The fellowship provides free access to all conference readings, workshops and seminars. Linda will also receive a signed copy of one book, dinner with faculty, and a feature in the open reading. THE Winners of the RICHARD MAXWELL FELLOWSHIP FOR 2008
Esther Kamkar of Palo Alto and Sarah Phoenix of Redwood City are this year’s co-winners for the Richard Maxwell Fellowship in Poetry. Judges noted the competition of worthy poets made the decision difficult, even as they agreed on co-winners rather than a single winner. Other poets honorably noted for consideration are Neita Farmer, Sylvia E. Halloran, Cheryl Passanisi, and Eve Sutton.
John A Sarconi is this year's winner for the Richard Maxwell Fellowship in Fiction. Judges noted that this year's entries were highly competitive. Other fiction writers honorably noted for consideration are Caroline Bertinetti and James Alexander Veech.
The fellowship provides free access to all conference readings, workshops and seminars. Each winner will receive a signed copy of one book, dinner with faculty, and a feature in the open reading.

There were many strong manuscripts and the judges of the Foothill College Writers' Conference want to thank all those that submitted their fine work for this competition.
THE Winners of the RICHARD MAXWELL FELLOWSHIP FOR 2006
They are Mary Rose Betten of Camarillo, California, for her short story "For Dr. Richard's Eyes Only."
Both Robert Warren of San Jose and Jacklyn M. Marderosian of San Jose each won the fellowship for their poetry.
The fellowship provides free access to all conference readings, workshops and seminars. With the exception of Jack Hirschman's Arcanes, each winner will receive a signed copy of one book, dinner with faculty, and a feature in the open reading.
