New designated smoking areas as well as new fines for smoking on campus are now in effect. Designated smoking areas are now clearly marked with red flags. Seating is provided in these areas. Smoking outside of designated areas will now result in the following fines:
Designated smoking areas are located in most campus parking lots. However, be certain that you review the campus map so that you’re in compliance with the policy. Smoking citation fines are distributed to the Foothill-De Anza Community College District Police Department, 70 percent; and Health Services Office smoke cessation program, 30 percent. To provide a safe learning and working environment for students and employees, smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor campus locations, with the exception of designated smoking areas.
