Foothill College will host the 7th annual Silicon Valley Code Camp Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6 and 7. Admission to Code Camp is a free, but advance registration is required. A Silicon Valley tradition, the Code Camp conference gives computer professionals the opportunity to network and learn from each other.
If you're in any profession or college major related to computer programming, sign up and come to this awesome event! Its free and all you need to do is register at http://siliconvalley-codecamp.com. Be certain to register soon; space is limited and will fill up quickly.
With an estimated 200 technical sessions from top industry professionals and more than 2,000 participants, Code Camp emphasizes these three points: by and for the developer community; always free; and never occurs during working hours.
Code Camp Platinum Sponsors are the who's who of local technology companies, including Microsoft, Google, Oracle, HP, AT&T, Sprint, Box, Adobe, Intuit and others. Topics covered in the sessions cover the gamut from introductory sessions on Google's programming, Microsoft's Cloud computer offerings, deep dives into programming language complexities and even a few marketing and legal sessions for the new entrepreneurs in our valley.
For the first time, this year's Code Camp will make use of the large Smithwick auditorium in addition to the more than 30 other classrooms used for presentations and "chalk talks."
Presenting at the Smithwick (among others) is one of Microsoft's best known VPs, Scott Guthrie, who pioneered in early 2000 Microsoft asp.net, among other things. Among Microsoft developers, Guthrie is a rock star, having always kept his ear close to internal and external engineers, making sure Microsoft is building developer tools that the world needs.
Visitors must purchase a required parking permit for $3. Purchase permit from dispensers in any student parking lot. Failure to display a valid permit will result in a citation.
