Today Is Deadline to Register to Vote in General Election
Use Foothill's Free TurboVote Online Service to Sign Up

Oct. 22, 2012, is the deadline to register to vote in the 2012 General Election. Whether it's for the local school board or the Oval Office, you can now register to vote, request an absentee ballot and get e-mail and text reminders about local, state and national elections when you sign up for TurboVote. It's a new, free service available to Foothill and De Anza students. The 2012 General Election, which includes both the presidential election and California election, is just weeks away. You have a right to vote in this election. When you sign up at, you can request an absentee/mail-in ballot and/or choose to receive a reminder to vote on Election Day. A project of Democracy Works, a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Brooklyn, N.Y., TurboVote, is an application that facilitates voter registration and voter participation. TurboVote works for every election--special, primary or general, from school board to federal. And for every election, TurboVote will send text and email reminders to users who have signed up for the service to ensure that voters never miss another election-related deadline. The Foothill-De Anza (FHDA) Community College District has partnered with TurboVote to provide FHDA students with an easy, free and secure way to stay informed about deadline and easy voting. TurboVote is funded by the Sunlight Foundation, Google, the Knight Foundation, Weinmann Charitable Trusts, Further Foundation, Youth Engagement Fund, and individual donors. TurboVote receives legal and policy support from the Fair Elections Legal Network.
