Job Hunters Boot Camp

San Mateo County Investment Board and Peninsula Congresswoman Jackie Speier host Job Hunters Boot Camp Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Mateo County Event Center. Admission is free to San Mateo County residents and residents of the 12th Congressional District. Pre-registration at www.speier.house.gov is required. This is the ninth Job Hunters Boot Camp that the congresswoman has hosted.
More than 35 employers will be present, and employment experts will help you sharpen your resume and interview skills. You'll also hear from leading-edge job coaches. One such speaker, Sumaya Kazi, will talk about entrepreneurship, innovation and the varying career paths young people can take to achieve their personal and professional goals. Additional presentations will spotlight the unique needs and talents that veterans and mature job seekers bring to the workplace.
Lastly, you can expect workshops on job-searching in the digital age, which will teach you how to use LinkedIn and other social networking sites to find a rewarding job.
