It's easier than ever to cast your vote*ójust bring your completed ballot to the Foothill campus and deposit it in the official vote-by-mail ballot box that's now securely attached to the flag pole adjacent to the Administration Building (Building 1900). The vote-by-mail ballot box will remain on campus through Nov. 6. As a Santa Clara County voter, you can track the status of your vote-by-mail ballot online at the Registrar of Voters website. The on-campus official ballot box is just one of the activities in the get-out-the-vote campaign headed up by the Associated Students of Foothill College and the college's Students Affairs & Activities Offices. If you requested to receive an absentee ballot, check your home mailbox this week. Yesterday, the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters mailed out more than one-half million vote-by-mail ballots for the Nov. 6 general election. Early voting means you can return your ballot by mail, deposit it in the official ballot box at Foothill or at the county office in San Jose instead of waiting until to vote in person on Election Day Nov. 6. Now for the fine print: Santa Clara County uses paper optical scan ballots. Complete your ballot by connecting the arrow next to your selection with a single, unbroken line. Do not make any stray marks on your ballot, including your name or your initials. Use only blue or black ink. You must sign the vote-by-mail envelope for your vote to be counted. *IMPORTANT: Only ballots for voters registered in Santa Clara County can be accepted at the on-campus ballot box. Please do not deposit ballots from other counties as they will be declared invalid, not counted and destroyed. The vote-by-mail ballot box is locked at all times and opened only by county elections officials. The box is delivered to the on-campus flag pole site each weekday morning and then removed and stored in a secure location overnight and weekends. Special Notice: Only ballots for voters registered in Santa Clara County can be accepted at the on-campus ballot box. Please do not deposit ballots from other counties as they will be declared null and destroyed.
