The Mobile Vet Center visits the Foothill campus several times throughout the academic year, including its next visit Thursday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There is no fee for veterans to use the services offered by the Mobile Vet Center, and you do not need an appointment to visit the center, just stop by. Center staff are trained professionals who are experts at connecting veteran-students with community and Veterans Administration support and services, including community education, employment referrals and guidance, medical referrals, benefits counseling, employment counseling, financial counseling, marriage and family counseling, PTSD counseling, sexual trauma counseling, social counseling and many other types of programs services. The Mobile Vet Center provides a broad range of counseling, outreach and referral services, to help veteran-students and their families successfully make post-war readjustments to civilian life. The traveling Vet Center is a program of the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Office and is funded by the U.S. Veterans Administration. The Mobile Vet Center's on-campus visits are coordinated by the Foothill College Veterans Resource Center (Room 2014), which is a centralized resource hub, easily accessible and widely available to all veterans and their families. The center provides veterans the essential components in assessment and screening, general academic support services, peer counseling, culturally relevant support programs, outreach, student clubs, wellness and access to training in assistive-computer technology. Foothill's Veterans Resource Center team is made up of dedicated professionals who have an interest in each veteran-student's success. The team is comprised of professionals from several departments across campus, all with the common goal of helping veterans and their families accomplish their academic missions.
