Students enrolled in Foothill's Theatre Arts Department will stage Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead Nov. 1-18 in the Lohman Theatre at Foothill College. Directed by Foothill College Theatre Arts Instructor Bruce McLeod, B.A., the play is Tom Stoppard's comic masterpiece. A fabulously inventive tale of Hamlet, the story is told from the worm's-eye view of the bewildered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters in Shakespeare's play. Amid echoes of Waiting For Godot, and a contemporary backdrop of homeless encampments and the 1%, this Shakespearean Laurel and Hardy finally get a chance to take the lead roles. Thursday evening performances are Nov. 1, 8 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday evening shows are Nov. 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees are Nov. 4, 11 and 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18, general admission; $15, seniors, students and FHDA personnel; and $10, students with OwlCard.
