The Foothill College Environmental Horticulture & Design Program presents its Annual Spring Plant Sale Saturday, April 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the college's horticulture facilities adjacent to Lot 8 at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. Admission is free; parking is $3.

The popular fundraiser features heirloom tomato plants, vegetables and herbs, salvias, cacti and succulents, container plantings, ornamental and fruit trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, 24"-box Australian Tree Ferns, water-wise plants and more.

This year, the Northern California Chapter of the American Bamboo Society will also attend the college's plant sale to sell and auction rare and exotic bamboos. Some of these bamboos are recent introductions into the United States and have not been generally available. Clumping and running bamboos from Central and South America, the Himalayas, Southeast Asia, China and Japan will be offered at the Foothill plant sale event.

Patrons are also invited to visit the college's new compost demonstration area and purchase bags of compost made by students. Compost tea will be available; bring an empty one- gallon jug with lid.

Items for sale are first come, first served. Payment must be cash or check; no credit cards. Bring bags or boxes to transport purchases.
