The Israeli Afro-American Experience
Inspired by Israel’s 1991 airlift of Ethiopian Jews,

of an Israeli kibbutz, a village in which cooperative labor
provides for everyone’s needs. Her award-winning Operation
Unity programs involve students from America’s inner cities in
the life of Israel’s kibbutzim to break down racial,
ethnic and cultural barriers, and promote an appreciation for what
people from diverse backgrounds can achieve by working together.
