You do need to take an English test:

• If you plan to enroll in any English course and you don’t meet the exceptions outlined below.
• You plan to enroll in a course with an English prerequisite.
• If you plan to enroll in CNSL 50.

You do not need an English placement test:

• If you have a college degree from an accredited U.S. college or university
• If you are eligible for English 1A  (freshman level English) or higher
• Until you are planning to start your English course work

You must complete and submit the Foothill College Application for Admission prior to attending a testing session.

Validity Statement - A student's placement is valid for two years and then the placement exam must be taken again.

* Retest Policy - You may take the English Placement test once in an academic year.
