Leadership and Service (2012-2013)
This certificate gives students the core studies needed for development of leadership and communication skills, preparation for civic responsibility, exploration of diverse cultures, and participation in building communities.
this program offers training and experiences in planning, policy development and implementation, decision making, goal and objective development, leadership theory and styles, organizational development, cultural programming, time management, problem solving and conflict resolution, budget development, team building, group dynamics, event planning, student rights and responsibilities, governance alternatives, parliamentary procedures, and community service.
 
Program Learning Outcomes
Students will have gained the core skills and values needed for development of leadership skills including communication, decision-making, governance alternatives, using parliamentary procedure, being an effective member of a team and developing a budget.
Students will demonstrate skills needed to effectively provide service to and impact the surrounding community, and will be prepared for future civic responsibility and participation in building communities.
