1. Description -
Participation in tournament soccer competition at an intermediate and advanced level of play.
Prerequisite: None
Co-requisite: None
Advisory: Previous intercollegiate or club soccer play; not open to students with credit in H P 129.

2. Course Objectives -
The student will be able to:
  1. improve his/her aerobic fitness.
  2. learn soccer team strategy in offensive and defensive categories.
  3. improve basic soccer skills.
  4. experience a high level of soccer competition.
  5. learn the value of team play and team coordination.
3. Special Facilities and/or Equipment -
Standard soccer shoes and appropriate workout apparel.
Outdoor soccer field.

4. Course Content (Body of knowledge) -
  1. Kicking game
    1. Inside of the foot pass/push/pass
    2. Outside of the foot pass/kick
    3. Instep passing/kick
  2. Heading the ball
    1. Heading for goal
    2. Heading to destroy/defensive
  3. Ball collection and preparation to include all parts of the body:
    1. Head/chest
    2. Thighs
    3. Feet
5. Repeatability - Moved to header area.
