Dinosaur dig authentic assessment

Professional Development Day Fall 2014

Topic: Authentic Assessment
Authentic Assessment is defined as a form of assessment in which students are asked to perform real-world tasks that demonstrate meaningful application of essential knowledge and skills. - "Authentic Learning for the 21st Century: An Overview" by Marilyn M. Lombardi, 2007 EDUCAUSE

Several faculty members shared how they use authentic assessment in their classes and participants brainstormed and shared ideas on how they might shift their classes to incorporate authentic assessment.
