Transfer Information for Faculty
Supporting the transfer of students from Foothill College to baccalaureate granting institutions is one of the four primary missions of the community college.
Facilitating Student Transfer
Transfer requirements may vary from institution to institution and may change annually. The Foothill counselors are well-equipped to support students in achieving their transfer goals. For the UC and CSU systems, students generally need to complete a minimum of 90 transferable quarter units, including the lower division major preparation for their major and the appropriate general education pattern of courses. Students typically apply between October 1 and November 30 for admission the following fall term. Independent and out-of-state transfer requirements and admission deadlines vary widely. The IGETC and/or CSU GE pattern may not be the best option for all students. Foothill College has entered into guaranteed
transfer admission agreements with many universities. Please refer students with any questions regarding transfer requirements to a
Foothill counselor.
Foothill Transfer Center
The Foothill College Transfer Center provides numerous resources to support students in reaching their goals.
The Transfer Center provides assistance to students in meeting minimum transfer requirements, filling out college applications, writing admission essays, and completing Transfer Admission Agreements (TAAs). Each year, hundreds of college representatives visit Foothill College to meet with students. An annual Transfer Day is held each October.
The Transfer Center regularly offers workshops with university officials and counselors.
