Transcript Evaluations

Overview

Students interested in transferring previously completed coursework credit to Foothill College should submit an official Transcript Evaluation request.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, a student must mee the following requirements:

currently enrolled in at least one (1) Foothill College course;
have completed at least six (6) units at Foothill College; and
have ALL eligible official transcripts filed with Admissions & Records.

If you do not meet all three (3) requirements, you can schedule a counseling appointment to request a brief transcript evaluation to get you started while you while you wait to submit an official Transcript Evaluation request.

Eligibile Transcripts

Here's a list of different types of transcripts that are eligible for an official evaluation*:

U.S. College/University Transcripts
College Board - Advanced Placement Exams (AP)
International Baccaularette Exams (IB)
DD-214 Military Service Records
Foreign Transcripts*

U.S. College/University Transcripts

All U.S. based transcripts from a regionally accredited college or university are eligible for an official evaluation. Eligible completed coursework appearing on the transcript will be reviewed for course equivalency, general education requirements, including local general education, IGETC, and CSU Breadth; major core coursework requirements; etc. Upon completion, DegreeWorks will be updated to reflect all applicable transferred coursework and/or credit.

College Board: AP Transcripts

Eligible Advanced Placement Exams will be officially transferred and applied to DegreeWorks. To view the current list of eligible exams, including minimum score requirements, and their applicable areas, click here: College Credit for Advanced Placement

Students have the option to select which elibile exams to transfer. It is recommend that students consult with a counselor prior to submitting this request.

IB Exam Transcripts

Eligible International Baccalaureate Exams will be officially transferred and applied to DegreeWorks. To view the current list of eligible exams, including minimum score requirements, and their applicable areas, click here: General Education IB Exam Score Equivalency List

Students have the option to select which elibile exams to transfer. It is recommend that students consult with a counselor prior to submitting this request.

Foreign Transcripts*

Foreign transcripts may be eligible for an official evaluation with certain limitations.

All Foreign transcript request must meet the following additional requirment:

Request a course-by-course foreign transcript evaluation, by a third-party evaluation agency, such as World Education Services (WES). For a list of agencies, please click here: Foreign Transcript Evaluation Services.
Have your foreign transcript evaluation sent directly from the agency to Foothill College.

Transferability of foreign coursework is limited. For more information regarding foreign coursework, please contact a counselor.

DD-214 (Military Service Record)

Veterans may request an official evaluation of their DD-214 military service record. It is highly recommended that you consult with a veterans counsler before submitting this request.

Processing Time

Once we have received your request. It will be processed in the order received.

Please allow up to 45 days from the time of submitting for it to be processed before attempting to register. Processing times may increase during peak seasons.
