Preparing For Your Appointment
Before Your Appointment
- Take English and math assessments*
- Prepare to bring necessary documents: other college transcripts, test scores and any other records relevant to issues you want to discuss*
- Make a list of questions you want to ask
- If interested in transfer, make a list of potential universities and major programs
On the Day of Your Appointment
- Have your Foothill CWID (student ID) number ready to verify your identity
- Check your internet, camera and microphone on your device to make sure they're all working (if doing a Zoom appointment)
- Be in a quiet, private place where you can discuss important, personal topics
Please note that it is the responsibility of the student who has made or requested a counseling or intake appointment to inform the DRC of any of the following:
Cancellation of an appointment
Anticipated late arrival past the scheduled appointment time
Absence from a scheduled appointment
Unexcused No-Show Consequences: An unexcused no-show is defined as a failure to cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
After two no-shows, students will need to meet with the DRC Supervisor to schedule DRC counseling appointments; this will allow both the DRC and student to understand the reason for the no-show and build techniques to avoid it in the future.
This does not apply to appointments missed due to an emergency. If an emergency occurs, please inform the DRC of the circumstances as soon as possible.
