Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What are community education classes?

Community extension courses are non-credit, classes offered by Foothill College. They are for enrichment purposes only and students do not obtain any formal academic credit.

Q. How do I register online?

We strongly recommend all students register online. To register, simply find the course you wish to enroll and add it to the shopping cart.   Click on the "sign in" link to the left.  New Students (first-time visitors) will be asked to create a new profile while Returning Students will be asked to sign in to their account. Once a profile has been created and/or a student has signed into their account, they may continue to shop for classes or proceed to checkout. Please follow credit card payment instructions. After the transaction has been completed, students will receive an email confirmation. When registering, don't forget to include your email address!

Q. Do you offer any kind of financial aid?

No. Federal Financial Aid is not available for non-credit classes.

Q. Can I pay by cash or check?

We do not accept cash payment.

Q. How do I request a refund?

Students may request a refund prior to the start of class by sending an email to communityed@foothill.edu. Refund requests must be submitted directly to the college and are not approved automatically. Please allow one to two weeks for processing.  A $15 processing charge per class will be deducted for any refunds issued if requested within 15 days of starting the class.  Please note that Community Education does NOT process For-Credit refunds.  Go to  https://foothill.edu/reg/cashier/refunds.html for refund information.

Q. How much does parking cost?

Parking at Foothill College is $3.00 per day and is enforced 24/7.  Permit machines are located throughout campus and accept $1 bills, and nickel, dime and quarter coins only. The day-use permit is valid on the date of purchase only. If you are interested in purchasing a permit for the quarter for the Foothill Campus, you can purchase it online.
