Global Experiential Learning
About Our Program
The Foothill Office of Global Experiential Learning (GEL) organizes faculty-led study abroad and experiential learning programs where students can learn critical skills for thriving in a global workforce and becoming more responsible global citizens while engaging in a once-in-a-lifetime experience abroad.
GEL programs offer students immersive and holistic experiences, with learning happening in and outside of a traditional classroom. Programs vary in length and courses/credits offered, ranging from two-six week, short-term programs mostly offered in summer, and eight-ten week (quarter-long) programs during the academic year. Destinations and experiences vary each year, and all programs are well-suited for everyone regardless of academic major, prior travel or study abroad experience, age, or educational goal (lifelong learners are always welcome!).
The GEL Office prioritizes making programs affordable, with scholarships and financial aid available for most programs.
