FAQs for Faculty and Staff

COVID-19 Update

Effective July 3, 2023, Foothill no longer requires proof of vaccination for on-campus classes and masking is no longer highly encouraged.

However, students must still report a COVID-19 infection to Foothill directly. We ask that you stay home if you do not feel well and inform the college if you have been on campus and subsequently been diagnosed with COVID. See details here.

DISTRICT COVID-19 EMPLOYEE RESOURCES & INFORMATION

Vaccinations

Given that students attending on-campus classes must be fully vaccinated, will the college require proof of vaccination in the current or coming quarter?

All students must have their vaccination information on file before enrolling in current or coming-quarter classes. If a student has submitted a petition for a medical or religious exemption, that must also be approved before the start of classes.

When does the vaccination policy end?

On Monday, April 3, 2023, the Board of Trustees approved the rescission of Board Policy 3507 COVID-19 Vaccination Interim Policy. Effective July 3, 2023, the first day of Summer 2023 Quarter, COVID-19 vaccinations will no longer be required at Foothill-De Anza Community College District. The lifting of the COVID-19 vaccination mandate applies to all faculty, staff, students, vendors, and visitors. Individuals will no longer need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to access in person district programs and services. Please note the COVID-19 vaccination mandate will remain in place through July 2, 2023.

Will I be required to check a student’s vaccination status as the instructor in a classroom?

Faculty will not be asked to verify a student’s vaccination status.
